Sean is an expert in process and hydraulic design with more than thirty years of experience designing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and supervising the operation and maintenance of water treatment plants, from municipal drinking water treatment plants through industrial water treatment of all kinds including clean and black utilities, through a wide range of industries and pumped storage hydro power plants. He has even carried out hydraulic design of large, complex water features,

Sean has designed many municipal drinking water treatment plants, and undertaken troubleshooting of problems with many more. Much of his expert witness practice is in this area.

Sean has designed and commissioned many municipal sewage treatment plants, and  undertaken forensic investigations and troubleshooting of several in recent years.

Sean has designed, commissioned and fixed problems with many industrial water treatment plants over more than thirty years of professional practice. Food and drink, pharmaceuticals, oil and gas, and plating works have been particularly prominent sectors, but there is no sector in which he has not worked. 

Sean has extensive experience with troubleshooting small off-mains pumping and treatment solutions. Unlike the overwhelming majority of people operating in this area as experts, he has actually personally designed a range of packaged plants for this purpose.

Sean has designed, commissioned and undertaken troubleshooting of many sludge treatment (thickening, blending, drying, incineration and digestion) plants, covering sewage sludge, drinking water sludge,  and industrial sludges.
